# Overview p2p network for creators & sovereign communities OmniFlix Network is a **p2p network** designed for **creators and sovereign communities** to achieve efficiency in both **web2 and web3 media management, distribution and monetization**. It enables community members to engage meaningfully through **on-chain data** and facilitates **IP ownership, management, distribution** and **monetization**. ## **Why the focus on creators?** Creators are the innovators. They experiment, take risks and push boundaries, whether through storytelling, coding, or community building. OmniFlix, as a network, aims to **empower creators** with the infrastructure and products / product suite for **content creation, management, distribution** and **monetization**. This allows creators to focus on **creating** without being distracted by the complexities on managing the business, legal and financial side of things. ## **Why the focus on sovereign communities?** Communities thrive on **coordination and collaboration** to create value. OmniFlix helps you **do more** with your NFTs. To interact with the blockchain, creators have a few applications using which they can interact with the chain. This enables community members to collect and list them to initiate secondary sales either in `Fixed Price Listings` or `Time-based Auctions`. ## 2) Primary Advantages 1. NFTs on the OmniFlix Hub are not minted against a specific smart contract, but are natively minted at a protocol layer. This enables ownership of a specific NFT to exist right at the protocol layer and not at a smart contract layer.

NFTs on OmniFlix are pretty generic and the `oNFT` standard for NFTs gives creators the ability to create: 1. media-assets as NFTs (audio, video, images, text and mixed media formats) 2. digital items as NFTs (tickets, certificates, collectibles, collectible cards/trading cards, etc.) 3. and.. even AI models and DeFi strategies that can be composed as NFTs
3. On OmniFlix Hub, the NFTs that are minted will be compatible with the Cosmos native NFT standard, CosmWasm, Ethereum, Solana, etc.
4. NFT media is stored on IPFS while the NFT metadata resides on the blockchain itself. This ensures that the metadata doesn't get deleted and has the blockchain, OmniFlix Hub, itself as the single source of truth. ## 3) What can you do with OmniFlix? This module works on the assumption that all NFTs are part of a collection where a standard schema or properties for a specific collection are to be defined. Key components of the oNFT module are: * denoms/collections * NFTs ### a) Denoms/Collections Denoms/collections offer standardization of properties for specific NFTs that are created/minted as part of the collection. A property called *'schema'* can take input of a JSON object that defines the various properties for NFTs within that collection. ### b) NFTs Once a collection is minted, NFTs can be minted immediately or eventually against a specific denom or within a specific *collection*. Each NFT will have the properties like title, description and others among the metadata along with a set of properties that define the NFT, adhering to the same *schema,* inherited from the denom/collection that the NFT is being minted within. ## 2) Marketplace The OmniFlix Marketplace module works with sovereign chains that utilize the oNFT standard. The OmniFlix Marketplace module, will eventually support all NFT standards from the interchain ecosystem thereby facilitating the exchange of non-fungible tokens for fungible tokens. The Marketplace will feature various models of sales like: **1) Fixed price** Typically when an asset gets listed for in this model, a fixed price for the NFT is pre-determined by the owner for any further sale. If there are multiple editions of the same NFT, each token can be listed for a different price. **2) Time-based Auction** Owners of NFTs that list on the marketplace in a time-based model subject the NFT to a bidding process that's extends the duration of the final sale by x number of hours before the ownership can be changed from the current owner to the new owner with the highest bid. Bidding and auctions will be available on the OmniFlix Network in subsequent dev/testnets. The marketplace module will eventually feature many different ways for users to sell and for collectors to pick up and buy. Assets can be sold independently or in bundles combined with other assets for a fixed price, auction, a flash sale or even a surprise package or a loot box. The `bidCloseDuration` parameter determines the duration of an auction before it is closed for bids. * Auctions adhere to the royalties as set by the creator during NFT minting. * All bids on auctions will accept only the token that the auction starts with. * Auction listing can NOT be edited. The owner of the NFT is required to de-list or cancel an auction and then re-list it again in case of any updates to the listing configuration. ### Bid Close Duration * bidCloseDuration is a parameter that can be controlled by the governance of the OmniFlix Hub. * This parameter determines the duration before which an auction should end before receiving bids. * On FlixNet-4, this parameter is set to 60min or 1hr. * On mainnet, this parameter will be set to 24hrs by default and can be updated by governance as required. ### Details to create/configure an auction * **Minimum Bid** represents the value of the first bid to kick start an auction * **Bid Increment Percentage** represents the value being given as an input to the step function. This function increases the minimum bid by a certain percentage with every bid. * **Start Time** for an auction is important to enable scheduled launches (on a daily/weekly/monthly basis) and more * **End Time** for an auction is optional, but it is best to set the end time for every auction to ensure they're live. If no End Time for an auction is set, the auction ends in the duration * Timed-auctions have the ability to take input of **Splits** * Splits are the set of OmniFlix accounts that an owner might want to share the value received from the winning bid * Timed-auctions have the ability to take input of whitelisted accounts which lead to private auctions on OmniFlix. ### Private Auctions on OmniFlix Auctions are by default public for everyone to participate unless there are whitelisted accounts. Whitelisted accounts are possible to set for an auction thereby allowing only a certain set of accounts to participate in the bidding process of an auction.
